Lead Administrator
A love of the outdoors has shaped Cara’s life—from childhood, though to her education, and up to today. A quiet and active child, Cara spent much of her time outside. She also enjoyed playing the bass clarinet and organizing things.
Cara studied Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership at Mount Royal. Her degree led to many great adventures. Later, she found her niche in administration. This led her to complete her bookkeeping certification, in 2017.
She handled administration for a nature centre in Alberta. Then, a management position at Otway Nordic Centre brought her, and her family, to Prince George. Since then, bookkeeping has been Cara’s focus. She joined us in December 2018 to help manage operations and administration.
Sparkgeo’s team atmosphere attracted Cara to Sparkgeo. She also appreciates being able to prioritize the work that needs to be done—on her own schedule. Cara works from home, and our Prince George office, depending on the day and work at hand. She finds satisfaction in working behind the scenes—and how this work frees others up to focus on their specialized fields.
Cara describes her children as adventurous and creative souls, who she enjoys hanging out with. She makes time to run because it has a positive impact on all aspects of her life. She also volunteers as a way to connect with Prince George’s vibrant, outdoorsy community.
Cara loves Canada’s big backyard. She took it in, over a 4 month long cross-Canada tenting road trip. She followed that up with a winter of dogsledding in the Yukon. She’d like to visit friends in New Zealand and Belgium; that said, she’s equally happy to take a quick trip to Vancouver Island and connect with family.
