During his work as a digital marketer in real estate, Julien met up with Will for a few coffees. These conversations piqued his interest in the geospatial industry. Not long after, he joined the Sparkgeo team.
Since 2015, Julien’s managed marketing for our map analytics tool, Maptiks. He’s done so while working remotely—from his home, co-working spaces, and coffee shops. He enjoys doing so for the change in scenery. He finds that this variety helps him maintain focus and remain productive.
Julien thinks demand for geospatial software/tools will continue to grow. He’s excited to see how the geospatial industry will accommodate space travel and exploration. He considers Sparkgeo uniquely strong at building map-related software that solves meaningful problems.
A lifelong learner, Julien studied at the University of Guelph. He continues to expand his knowledge through applied training. He’s earned a Google Ads Partner certificate and a Facebook Business Manager certificate (among others).
When not working, Julien spend a lot of time in the outdoors: hiking, camping, and hunting. He also travels, having recently returned from Malaga, Spain. That said, he’s most enamoured with the rainforest that surrounds Vancouver. He considers Chilliwack Lake notable for its crystal clear glacial waters.
Word is that he’s better at cooking a steak in a cast iron skillet than most.
