Greg has spent nearly a decade primarily working with electromagnetic technology, during which he became fluent in scientific software development and high-performance computing. As a result of this experience, he transitioned into data engineering and MLOps software development.
Throughout his career, Greg has worked extensively with geospatial data as a developer and a user. When he was ready for a new opportunity, he knew he wanted to continue his software development journey focusing on geospatial technology. Since joining Sparkgeo in June 2022, Greg has relished the opportunity to solve problems across various aspects of geospatial software. Currently based in Lethbridge, Greg appreciates Sparkgeo’s commitment to a healthy work culture.
When asked why mapping is awesome, Greg emphasizes the satisfaction he gains from creating maps from new datasets and the insights from them. Greg indulges his amateur love for philosophy and literature in his free time by diving into a good book. He also enjoys hiking, skiing, gardening, and camping with his family.
