Alan has a long career in the tech space. He is self-taught, having gained his knowledge through extensive online learning and reading, as well as studying at the University of Guelph. A previously served as UX Lead at Compusense, where he designed sensory analysis software and worked on front-end development. He also possesses a wealth of knowledge in data science and analytics.
Joining Sparkgeo in January 2018, he was excited to direct their UX efforts, and he appreciates the freedom he has to learn and excel in his role. He works remotely alongside a team of talented engineers based in Hamilton, Ontario. Alan has a profound appreciation for maps and how they can transform raw data into useful insights.
In a single year, he visited both the desert in Joshua Tree National Park and the rainforest in Monteverde, Costa Rica. When he's not busy solving UX problems, Alan is likely to be found cooking vegan cuisine or cycling and running at a rapid pace.
