Kaela joined Sparkgeo in 2013, by way of Selkirk College and UNBC. Prior to joining us, she ran around the bush counting birds, determining forest composition, and feeding mosquitoes.
Her childhood curiosity centered around art and science. Now, she gets excited about being part of a small company that does non-traditional work with technology.
Currently working remotely, Kaela misses being surrounded by the creative brains at Sparkgeo. That said, she enjoys being able to keep learning new things. She also likes being challenged to deliver creative solutions.
Kalea gravitates to projects that involve creative problem solving, and an element of design. She feels there’s something special in taking unruly data and creating something understandable and nice to look at.
When not working on geospatial projects, Kaela and her family are going on adventures, exploring our country, and eating ice cream.
