Kaela joined Sparkgeo in 2013 while completing her education at Selkirk College. Prior to joining the team, Kaela worked on projects involving bird counting, forest composition determination, and mosquito feeding in the bush. As a child, Kaela's interests revolved around both art and science and now she is excited to be part of a small company that does non-traditional work with technology.
Although Kaela is currently working remotely, from Edmonton she misses being surrounded by the creative minds at Sparkgeo. However, she appreciates the opportunity to continue learning and being challenged to deliver creative solutions. Kaela is particularly drawn to projects that involve creative problem-solving and an element of design. She finds it rewarding to take messy data and turn it into something understandable and aesthetically pleasing.
When she's not working on geospatial projects, Kaela enjoys going on adventures and exploring Canada with her family. They also love indulging in ice cream.
